Kinesys DigiHoist Range

KINESYS DIGIHOIST

Kinesys DigiHoist offers digital communications, limit monitoring, load and position feedback and group halt functionality in a compact package. At the core of the system is a digital communications link that enables multiple units to be daisy chained together. The units will automatically assign channels according to their position in the daisy chain. The high-resolution displays offer comprehensive channel feedback including channel number, status and load cell information.
The digital link incorporates SIL2 emergency stop connections which eliminate the need for shorting plugs in the system. Safety features include hoist presence indication, limit monitoring, and group halting on fault conditions. *

*Not all features are available on Direct Control versions.

KINESYS DIGIHOIST DIGILINK

The Kinesys DigiLink unit offers the user the opportunity to control large numbers of Kinesys DigiHoist remotely. In order to control a system of greater than 32 channels multiple handsets are required. The Kinesys DigiLink connects up to four handsets together so that a single handset GO button can control up to 96 hoists. While limiting the start of movement to a single GO button the DigiLink ensures that all emergency stops remain active at all times for maximum safety.

The Kinesys DigiLink also offers an innovative Clone feature. This allows multiple handsets to take control of the same Kinesys DigiHoist controllers. The Kinesys DigiLink ensures that only one Kinesys DigiHandset has control of the hoists at any one time while ensuring all the emergency stops stay active. Control is moved between handsets by simply pressing the emergency stop on any handset and then pressing RESET on the handset that is to take control.

Features

  • 4 Inputs for connection to DigiHandset
  • 1 Output for connection to DigiHoist
  • Status and Presence Indicators for all connections
  • Standard and Clone modes
  • 2U 19” rack format

KINESYS DIGIHOIST DIGIHANDSET

Kinesys DigiHandset has channel selection switches, Emergency STOP, GO and RESET buttons and a simple intuitive display to communicate the status of the controller. As soon as the handset is plugged into a Kinesys DigiHoist it will begin the auto addressing process. A solid blue status indicator above each channel states that a chain hoist is connected and ready to use.

The RESET button is used to acknowledge and reset a fault condition within the motor controller, it will flash when action is required. The GO button is used to initiate hoist movement, it will only illuminate if movement is possible.

If, for example, the system is in a reset state or if a selected channel has a fault, then the GO button will not illuminate.

Features

  • The Starburst LED display provides status information about the system in addition to the indicators on the handset
  • Group Halt. A group is defined as any hoists that are active on the system. If a group of hoists are moving and one of them develops a fault, all movement will be stopped
  • Handset menu can be used to modify operating parameters
  • Menu is navigated using three buttons labelled M, Up and Down

KINESYS VECTOR CONSOLE

Console Hardware

The Kinesys Vector Console is an all-in-one control solution with a built-in dedicated PC running our industry established Vector Software. Vector users can run, edit and control cues via the keypad built in to the console, which mirrors the familiar layout of the keypad bundled with our initial Kinesys Vector software release. However, the user interface has also been expanded to include a 15.6″ backlit widescreen LCD with capacitive touchscreen, jog-wheels, joystick and stop/start buttons, as well as a dimmable backlit keyboard and trackpad for direct access to core Vector functions.

The Kinesys Vector software included with the console has been fully calibrated for touch screen use, and the hardware also provides some welcome additions to the software’s core functionality including:
• RFID Login
• Integrated Estop & DMH
• Dedicated Media Network output
• 2 x External Monitor Output (1 x HDMI, 1 x VGA)
• Two USB outputs for Memory Expansion and Software uploads

Designed with ease of use in mind, this latest edition to the Kinesys product family is the best and easiest way to operate Vector software, whether you’re programming a show, or running it.

Console Software
Kinesys Vector software allows cues to be built and run with a variety of linking options. The amount of cues that can be built and channels that can be controlled are limited only by your imagination.

Creating and Editing Cues
Kinesys Vector has a wealth of cue creation and editing features designed to allow rapid entry and programming of cues. Advanced linking features allow complex cue sequences to be easily constructed while maintaining maximum flexibility over the overall operation of the devices in motion. Four playbacks allow cues to be run simultaneously, and manual running features make all aspects of movement easy and safe.

Kinesys Vector runs on compatible Windows computers with the option of a USB keypad for faster editing and operation.

Integrates with other Kinesys products
Kinesys Vector’s full integration with all Kinesys controllers also ensures that maximum feedback is available to the operator for ease of system monitoring. Comprehensive channel settings allow remote configuration of the drives and controllers in the system.

Safety and Security
Three levels of user login allow different levels of access to be granted to ensure the safety and security of the system is maintained. For more complex moves a ‘Dead Man’s Handle’ can be assigned on a channel-by-channel basis as well as group halt and error windowing to prevent members of a group from moving out of synchronisation.

Licensing
A free demo version of Kinesys Vector is available for Download. This version of the software is fully featured but will not output any commands to carry out movement.

Features

  • All in one Vector control console, fully calibrated for touch screen control and designed to ease workflow for operators
  • 15.6″ Touch Screen Interface, Joystick, Rate Wheel controls and dedicated Start/Stop buttons
  • RFID gives instant access to login profile
  • Integrated Estop and DMH as well as the ability to seamlessly integrate with external safety control systems
  • Original Vector Keypad fully integrated into the design of the console, with additional dedicated backlit LED keyboard
  • Automation and Media outputs, as well as outputs for external monitors
  • Dimmable desk light (included)

KINESYS MENTOR SAFETY SERIES 3

Kinesys Mentor products provide the key interface between Kinesys’ different product ranges, allowing the emergency stop systems built into Kinesys Elevation, and Kinesys DigiHoist Ranges to work together simply and easily.

Features

  • SIL3 Emergency Stop
  • Front panel diagnostic
  • Intelligent E-STOP monitoring

KINESYS MENTOR SAFETY SERIES 4

The series 4 range of Kinesys Mentor controllers adds further features to the Kinesys Mentor safety controller family. It has SIL3 safety over Ethernet at its core and can communicate with and safely control up to 60 devices at any one time.

Kinesys Mentor series 4 uses the emergency stops and enable switches (dead man’s handles) common across the Kinesys Mentor range. It also includes Universal Device Interface (UDI) connections that allow Elevation, DigiHoist and other legacy systems to integrate into the Kinesys Mentor infrastructure.

Safe groups are central to the Mentor series 4 capabilities. This feature allows devices to be grouped together with a SIL3 rating so that an error on any one of the grouped devices will stop the entire group. Groups can be created and deleted by the user from the touchscreen interface with any changes being confirmed via a key-switch to ensure these actions are only performed by authorised personnel.

The inclusion of a Console/Pendant connector allows the Dimension pendant to be connected directly to the Mentor making it quick and easy to get a system up and moving.

Features

  • Control up to 60 devices from a single unit
  • Emergency Stop and Enable Switches to SIL3
  • SIL3 safety data both to and from compatible devices
  • SIL3 device grouping capabilities
  • 7” touchscreen for configuration and diagnostics
  • Optional fibre connections for long distance connections
  • Universal Device Interface connections for non-Apex systems
  • 4U 19” rack format
