Kinesys Libra Cell

Kinesys Libra Cell is a load measuring shackle which, when combined with the other elements of the Kinesys Libra system, produces accurate, real time load information. Kinesys Libra Cell is designed for indoor use and is not waterproof.

The load cell itself features the Kinesys Libra shackle pin, which is designed to work exclusively with the world-wide recognised Crosby safety bow shackle. This innovative design means there is no loss of headroom as the load cell is built right into the shackle, a direct replacement for the famous ‘red pin’. The Kinesys Libra shackle maintains a safety factor of 5:1 up to the full rated load stamped on the side of the bow.

Built into the load cell is a highly visible LED display allowing users to view the live load as well as input a tare value and switch between kg and lbs, all via an easy-to-use menu system.

Kinesys Libra Pro

The Kinesys Libra Pro features four XLR4 outputs allowing up to 100 loadcells to be monitored. It also features four programmable relay outputs and Ethernet connectivity.
Integration is at the heart of the Kinesys Libra Pro, multiple Kinesys Libra Cell outputs and USB and Ethernet connectivity make this the core of a Kinesys Libra system.
Kinesys Libra Pro relay outputs can be utilised to trigger alarms or beacons to warn of underload or overload situations.
When Kinesys Libra Pro is used with Kinesys Libra Watch it can unleash its full potential.
By downloading the free multiplatform software application Kinesys Libra Watch onto a computer, smartphone or tablet device you have the option of viewing load data in tabular, graphical or plan form through a user friendly interface.
Kinesys Libra WiFi allows Kinesys Libra Watch to connect wirelessly whereby load data can be monitored on the go through multiple devices, thereby allowing key parameters to be edited remotely. This gives all personnel a complete overview of the safety of any rigging installation.
Kinesys Libra View can also connect to Kinesys Libra Pro via its Ethernet or USB interface.

Kinesys Libra WiFi

A key advantage of Kinesys Libra WiFi is its unique design, perfect for using at any live entertainment event. The aerial can be easily mounted onto any truss, maximising the chances of generating the best signal without any limitations.
A built in Firewall permits only Kinesys data into the Kinesys Libra network which allows load data to be communicated in a fast, secure and safe way.
Libra WiFi is compatible with all Kinesys systems and can be plugged into a Kinesys DigiHoist to broadcast Kinesys Libra Cell data without the need of a Kinesys Libra Pro.
Kinesys Libra Pro and Kinesys DigiHoist can be connected to an Ethernet network thereby allowing Kinesys Libra WiFi to have access to all the load data in the system.
Wireless networks can be unpredictable under live show conditions – Kinesys recommends the use of a wired network connection whenever possible if load monitoring is required during a performance.

Kinesys Libra Watch

Kinesys Libra Watch is a portable, user-friendly and powerful load monitoring software application that is an integral part of the Kinesys Libra rangeKinesys Libra CellKinesys Libra Pro and Kinesys Libra WiFi.
It is a multi-platform software program which can be used on any computer, tablet or smartphone device. It gives the option of viewing load data in tabular, graphical or plan form through a user-friendly interface, which can be deployed on many different products, while still maintaining a consistent, universal look.
Overload and underload alarms and warnings can be communicated through multiple devices simultaneously. Many users can therefore maintain a complete overview of the load status and via a PIN number have access to edit key parameters remotely.
In order to transmit the load data wirelessly the system uses Kinesys Libra WiFi. This wireless node comes with a built in Firewall to allow only Kinesys data into the Libra system which ensures a fast, secure and safe network. Accessible to all, the connection is compatible with Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.

Kinesys Libra Basic

When used in conjunction with the Kinesys Libra View software, data from the load cells can be viewed, grouped and logged easily. A USB socket makes connection very simple.
The Kinesys Libra Basic is powered by an external universal power supply that allows the system to be used anywhere in the world.
The Kinesys Libra Basic can power up to 25 Libra Load Cells from the single XLR4 connection on the front of the unit.

Kinesys Libra Split

Kinesys Libra Split permits flexible connection of Kinesys Libra Cell devices to a single data connector on Kinesys Libra ProKinesys Libra Basic and Kinesys DigiHoist. The total number of cells connected to Kinesys Libra Split is restricted by the limitations of the master port or master device. Kinesys Libra Split is housed in a robust extruded aluminium case and receives low-voltage DC power from the incoming data cable.

Kinesys Libra Rig

Kinesys Libra Rig is a lifting accessory, designed and manufactured by Kinesys to connect a 4.75TE Kinesys Libra Cell shackle to a 3.25 standard bow shackle.

Using Kinesys Libra Rig the Libra Cell’s do not have to be disassembled during load in/load out.

Kinesys Libra Rig can travel on the Kinesys Libra Cell and loses less “hook height” than an O Ring, saving time and increasing the efficiency of the rigging process at each venue.

Kinesys Libra Rig is not designed for lifting people.

Kinesys Libra Node

The Kinesys Libra Node allows the connection of 3rd party load sensors to the Kinesys Libra Range. It has been designed to be used by OEMs to incorporate into their machines and structures. The Kinesys Libra Node can read 0-10V, 4-20mA and strain-gauge inputs and convert them into the digital data stream used by the Libra network.
The Kinesys Libra Node also has outputs for driving LEDs to indicate the state of the node and its associated sensor. Each Kinesys Libra Node is supplied with two short cable tails, one wired to an XLR4 female connector, and one wired to an XLR4 male connector to allow daisy chaining of the units*. These tails come pre-fitted with glands to allow easy insertion into machinery. Each Kinesys Libra Node requires a unique address to function on a network and a calibration process will be required to allow it work correctly with its paired sensor. Both the calibration and address setting are done from a software program available free from Kinesys. The calibration process will require known weights of increasing size to be applied to the sensor to enable it to be tuned correctly.
* Waterproof connectors can be supplied in place of XLR4 on special order.

Kinesys Libra View

It works in conjunction with Kinesys Libra Cell’sKinesys Libra Basic and Kinesys Libra Pro controllers. The software enables users to get a live readout of weights placed on Kinesys Libra Cell’s, as well as offering logging and archiving facilities. These are available in kg or lbs. The Kinesys Libra View software allows all activity to be logged and exported to a Comma Separated Value (.csv) file which can be opened by any text or spreadsheet application. It is also possible to automate this process to archive logs. When used in conjunction with a Kinesys Libra Pro controller, relays can be triggered when an underload or overload is detected by the Kinesys Libra Cell’s. These relays can be programmed to trigger sounders or visual warnings as well as triggering an emergency stop.
